This is a Cizhou Kiln porcelain long-necked vase from the Yuan Dynasty, a classic decorative/practical vessel of northern folk kilns:
- Craft & Material: Made with Cizhou Kiln's iconic black glaze (high iron content in glaze, forming a deep black, glossy texture after high-temperature firing); the body is made of the typical beige coarse clay of northern kilns, decorated with gilt patterns (requiring secondary firing, a complex process);
- Shape Feature: The shape of "slender neck + dish-shaped platform + round belly + side branch tube" is a typical example of the "combination of practicality and aesthetics" in northern folk kiln vessel design of the Yuan Dynasty.
- Craft Rarity: Cizhou Kiln black glaze wares are common, but intact pieces with gilt decoration are extremely rare (black glaze is prone to defects, and the yield rate of gilt secondary firing is less than 10%);
- Cultural Origin: Cizhou Kiln was the largest folk kiln system in northern China during the Yuan Dynasty. This vessel is a physical example of "folk kiln craft innovation" in northern ceramics at that time, reflecting the changes in folk aesthetics of the Yuan Dynasty;
- Market Value: In recent years, decorative black glaze wares of the Yuan Dynasty Cizhou Kiln have low circulation, and the market valuation of similar intact pieces is mostly between 100,000-300,000 RMB, with high collection potential.
